Link Library In Your Web Site... and Your Visitors Will Be Pleased!

 Manage Links Category

1. When you first access to Link Library administration area, you will be directed to Add Link page.

2. Please note that you have to create at least one category before adding any link. To create a link category, click on the Manage Category tab.

3. Enter a category name, choose a parent category from the drop-down menu (Top is shown by default) and give your category a short description (optional). (Figure 1)

4. Click on the Add button. You will find the newly created category, with its parent category highlighted in the list below. (Figure 2)

5. Link Library allows you to create up to unlimited number of sub-categories, for example:
Top > Shopping > Beauty Products > Cosmetic.

Category Name Beauty Products Cosmetic
Parent Category Shopping Shopping > Beauty Products

6. The category list below shows the entire main / sub-categories you have in your link library component. Click on the icon to edit a category. (Figure 3)

7. Re-enter the category name, change parent category or description and click on Update if you wish. You may also delete the category by clicking Delete button. (Figure 4)

8. Optionally, click on the icon from your category list as a faster way to remove a category.

 Adding a Link Top

1. Go to Add Link tab. Enter a link details in the appropriate fields. See below for the explanation of each field. (Figure 5)

Fields Description
Choose Category Choose a category that you have created for this link.
Link Title Title / name of the link, e.g: company name, website title.
Link URL URL or web address.
Publish Date Date you add the link. You may modify the publish date using YYYY-MM-DD format.
Description Insert description here. This will be shown in link library page on your website.
Reciprocal URL You request a link (text link or banner) to be placed on the linked webpage with the understanding that it will create a link back to your site. Reciprocal URL is where you can find this link.
Contact Name Name of contact person for the linked website.
Email Address Valid email address of that contact person.
Status Status of the link.
New - indicate new link. An icon appears adjacent to link title.
Show - display the link on your website.
Hide - do not display the link on your site.
Verify - pending for link existence checking. If the link is broken, 'Broken' status is reported. See Verify Links.
Broken link will not be displayed on your website.

 List & Sort Links Top

1. Click on List Link tab. You will see a complete list of linked websites, which you added manually or created through your website.

Please note that links created via your website will be given 'Verify' status.

2. Select a Category to narrow down the links listing. (Figure 7)

3. The list shows Link Category, Link Title and Status. You may sort the list by clicking icon on top of the column you want to sort. (Figure 8)

 Verify Links Top

1. Your Link Library component enables you to check whether the links (those under Verify status), are valid or broken.

2. To perform checking, on the top right of the list, click on the Validate All Links button. (Figure 9)

3. If a link is broken, soon you will see a red 'Broken' word reported in status column. Broken links will not be displayed on your website. (Figure 10)

4. As for those remained in 'Verify' status, you may now click on icon, go to edit page and change it to your delight status.

 Edit or Delete Links Top

1. It is easy to edit or remove a link from the handy list. Just click on to view or edit a link information; click on to delete a link at instant. (Figure 11a & Figure 11b)

2. Updating a link details is similar to the Add Link procedure.

3. After you click on the icon in the link list, you will see the similar form as adding a link but with all the information filled.

4. Modify any information as you wish, like updating link status, then click on Update button below the page. (Figure 12)

5. Once again, click on Delete if you wish to delete the link. If you do not want to do anything, just click on Back. (Figure 13)

 Preference Settings Top

1. Preference lets you choose display layout of the Link Library page on your website.

2. Refer to the following setting description to make a better choice.

Setting Description
Number of Records In List How many records to show per page in List Link section on your administration area.
Listing Sequence Decending - Latest link is displayed first followed by older link.
Ascending - Inversion of Decending.
Listing Style Style 1 : Brief Description Style
•  display Link Category, Link Title, Link URL & Description.



Style 2 : Title Only Style
•  display only Link Category & Link Title.
•  without Link URL and Description.
•  click on Title to pop-up linked website in new window.



Style 3 : Category Entry Style
•  display Parent Category > Sub-category
•  click on a sub-category to view list of links, each comes with Link Title, Link URL & Description, Date Added, User Rating & Hits




3. Once you are satisfied with your setting, click on the Save button. Clicking on Use Default button will reset all settings to default value.
