Configuring Your Email in Outlook Express

The default Outlook Express setting does not configured to the email account you have, you need to configure it to make it able to send and receive the email. In Outlook Express, you can configure to multiple email account so that it can check your email from multiple email servers. Following steps shows how to configure an email account, repeat the same steps to configure for other email accounts.

1. Launch Outlook Express, click the Tools menu followed by Accounts.

2. Click on the Mail tab then click Add button on the right, and select Mail from the menu. |

3. The Internet Connection Wizard dialog box will open. Enter your name as you would like to display in outgoing messages and click Next.

4. In the E-mail address field, enter your email address (eg: yourname@yourdomain.com) and click Next.
|

5. In the drop down menu next to My incoming mail server is a, select POP.
Enter the incoming mail server (eg: pop.comdev.com) and outgoing mail server (eg: smtp.comdev.com) in the box provided. Click Next.

6. Enter your username and password in the boxes provided. Your username will be all lowercase letters, your password is case sensitive. Click Next.
(Hint: If you have not changed your password since you registered your e-mail account, your password is the one assigned by your Internet Service Provider.)

7. Click Finish to save all the settings. |

8. Check to be sure your pop.comdev.com shows up. Click Close. Now you may click on the Send/Receive button in Outlook Express to send or retrieve mail from your email account. |
