How do I use the Bulk Upload feature to upload my photos?
Modified on 2005-12-14

The Bulk Upload feature allow you to upload multiple image files in 2 different methods.

A.  Bulk Upload Using ZIP File

  1. Compress or ZIP all your image files in a single ZIP file, you can use file compression software such as Winzip.
  2. Do not include any directory information when you ZIP the files.
  3. Go to your administration area, click on the Photo Gallery icon, go to Bulk Upload.
  4. Under "Bulk Upload Using ZIP File", click to browse the file.
  5. Before you click Start Upload, check the default setting of photo details you wish to use.

B. Bulk Upload Using Multiple Upload Fields

  1. By using this method, you can choose the number of image files you wish to upload at a time.
  2. Just click Browse to browse for specific image file you wish to upload.

Default Photo Details For Bulk Upload

Here you can customize your preferrable settings for all the image files you are going to upload.

  1. Set the category
  2. Check to use file name as photo title
  3. Set publish date
  4. Use EXIF data as photo description
  5. Auto create thumbnail
  6. Auto resize photo
  7. Set photo status as new
  8. Add copyright text

Tips To Avoid Bulk Upload Error

Because your PHP server configuration has limitation for the script execution time, using large size of image files may cause your server process to time out.

Example, if your ZIP file size is big, for eg:  2 MB and above, it may requires longer time to upload the file as well as auto create the thumbnails.

So to avoid the bulk upload error, we recommend you to use smaller file size for your image files, such as 10 images in a ZIP file of not more than 1 MB in total size.
